After seeing an increase in demand amongst chefs for a healthy, versatile British oil. We visited a regular supplier of ours, Hammonds Produce to see if they could help.
Hammonds Produce is 2,500-acre family run farm based in the Nottinghamshire countryside. Great grandson to the original founders, Jon Hammond currently supplies us with carrots, parsnips, spring greens and delicious British rhubarb. Jon opened our eyes to Hammonds Food Oils and the world of British rapeseed oil.
Borderfields is produced by Hammond Food Oils Limited, a business within the Hammond Farming Group of companies from Nottingham, UK. This partnership offered additional space to house the infrastructure to support a growing brand as well as access to growers from the North East to produce the best seed quality to deliver the best tasting product.
After sampling the Borderfields range of British rapeseed oils, we’re proud to say that we stock such a premium product. With half the saturated fat of olive oil and a near perfect balance of Omegas 3, 6 and 9, Borderfields not only delivers on taste but is also a healthier choice. They are the first UK cold pressed rapeseed oil manufacturer to be accredited under BRC Global Food Standard and awarded BRC AA standard since April 2016.
