Nationwide Produce PLC have once again struck gold at the ‘Oscars’ of the food industry – the Fresh Produce Consortium’s (FPC) Fresh Awards 2015.

For the second year in succession – as one of the largest, most established and diverse produce companies in Europe – Nationwide Produce PLC featured on the winners’ list alongside household names including Aldi and Marks & Spencer.

They took home the ‘Food Service Supplier of the Year’ 2015 winner’s trophy to add to last year’s ‘Wholesale Supplier of the Year’ gong.

A delighted Tim O’ Malley, Group Managing Director of Nationwide Produce PLC said:

“We must be doing something right! Back-to-back awards in ‘Wholesale’ and ‘Food Service’ highlights our position as the strongest non-retail specialist in the UK fresh produce industry – a position we’ve worked hard for and are proud of. We celebrate and share this success with our customers and colleagues. Huge thanks to the Fresh Produce Consortium and judging panel for this welcome vote of industry confidence.

More than 400 leading lights from the world of fresh produce attended the Fresh Awards ceremony, which was hosted by ‘Great British Bake Off’ star Sue Perkins.

Winners were announced across 15 categories at the Intercontinental Park Lane at London’s Hamilton Place, with Nationwide Produce PLC triumphing from a finalist list of nine businesses in the Supply Chain Excellence Division.
“We’re particularly delighted with the judges’ comments,” added Tim. “They praised us for being a ‘progressive family business giving added value to the supply chain’. This goes right to the heart of our company values. It’s a standard we are committed to keep achieving going forward.”

Nigel Jenney, FPC Chief Executive and Chair of the Fresh Awards judging panel, said:

The standard of entries was extremely high this year. The judging panel was impressed with the commitment of companies and individuals who are raising the bar ever higher for the industry’s performance. There are some shining examples of creativity, innovation and commercial success across all sectors among these finalists.
