As you will probably remember, at the end of last year we partnered with one of our British growers on an innovative plan to raise £10,000 for the annual Poppy Appeal.    Together with Suffolk based potato growers, Three Musketeers Ltd, we donated 50p to The Royal British Legion from every box of Mint salad potatoes sold throughout the three-week appeal.

When the sales receipts from the “Poppy Box” campaign were tallied, we were delighted to have exceeded our goal by almost 50 percent. We raised a total of £14,443 for the charity while promoting British produce at the same time.

We have now been shortlisted for the FPJ UK “Charitable Initiative” Fruit & Vegetable Award.  The award is determined by votes from FPJ subscribers. We feel we are worthy contenders for this award and would greatly appreciate your vote:
