Job Description
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our transport team at our Evesham Depot in Worcestershire.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule transport routes for deliveries, optimising efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Liaise with drivers, hauliers, and customers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
- Monitor and track transport operations, proactively addressing any delays or disruptions.
- Allocate vehicles and drivers in compliance with legal requirements and company policies.
- Manage all relevant documentation, including delivery notes, compliance paperwork, and transport records.
- Ensure transport operations comply with health and safety, and transport regulations.
- Work closely with internal teams, including logistics, sales, and warehouse staff, to coordinate transport requirements.
- Assist in resolving transport-related customer queries.
- Support contingency planning for unforeseen transport issues and disruptions.
Skills & Experience Required
- Previous experience in a transport planning, logistics, or supply chain role, preferably within fresh produce or FMCG.
- Strong knowledge of transport regulations, route planning, and fleet management.
- Experience in working with transport management systems and route optimisation software.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to liaise effectively with drivers, suppliers, and customers.
- Proficiency in logistics software, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and data management.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- A proactive and adaptable approach to problem-solving.
