AGP Ltd – Appointment of new Chairman
Anglia Growing Partnership Ltd is delighted to welcome Alan Christie on board as non-executive Chairman with effect from 13th August 2018.
Alan has previously been CEO and at the helm for a number of years at one of the largest produce businesses in Europe. He has spent the majority of his career in successful business turnaround and has broad & extensive experience in optimising entire business performance – significantly expanding markets and increasing profitability in large FMCG businesses.
Alan Christie said “one of the things that attracted me to AGP was that in an industry where there is significant over-capacity, two successful businesses have come together to create an efficient supply chain under one roof which ultimately benefits its customers and suppliers.”
Tim O’Malley, Group MD of Nationwide Produce commented “Alan joined us in the late 90’s with the aim to turnaround our processing business, Broadacre Foods. Not only did he successfully achieve this but he also helped us sell the business to Lingarden back in 2000. He’s moved on to help turnaround and run far larger companies since then. We know him well and are delighted to have someone with his considerable experience back on board to steer AGP at such a significant time for this exciting young business.”
Martin Taylor, Group MD of A.H. Worth commented “it is an exciting time in the further development of AGP and I warmly welcome Alan to the board and look forward to working with him”.
