Nationwide Produce PLC Celebrates Group Managing Director Tim O’Malley’s Appointment as a Trustee of FareShare
At Nationwide Produce PLC, we’re thrilled to announce a significant milestone for our Group Managing Director, Tim O’Malley. Tim has been appointed as a trustee of FareShare and has taken on the role of Chair of the Food Committee, a pivotal step that not only signifies his personal commitment but also deepens our longstanding partnership with this remarkable charity.
Tim’s appointment to the board of trustees at FareShare brings immense pride to Nationwide Produce PLC. His wealth of experience and profound understanding of the fresh produce industry position him as a valuable addition to FareShare’s board.
Reflecting on this new role, Tim expressed, “Joining FareShare’s board is an honour. It’s a voluntary commitment, but the impact FareShare makes in addressing food poverty is profound. Being part of their initiatives like ‘the Coronation Project’ is a significant opportunity to contribute positively to our society.”
This milestone highlights the alignment between FareShare’s mission and Nationwide Produce PLC’s values. Our partnership with FareShare dates back to January 2020, marked by a shared dedication to diverting surplus food and reducing food waste.
During the pandemic’s onset, our collaboration with Fareshare intensified. Together, we managed a £16m DEFRA-funded project, ensuring the distribution of essential food to charities battling with the challenges of the Covid crisis. This collaboration symbolises our commitment to supporting communities in need.
Since this project throughout the pandemic, our partnership has continued to grow. Nationwide Produce has evolved into a leading food partner, donating the equivalent of 750K meals since the inception of our partnership, emphasising our dedication to combating food poverty.
Tim’s appointment as the first fresh produce trustee at Fareshare alongside esteemed trustees Dominic Blakemore, CEO of Compass Group PLC, Aron Gelbard, co-founder of Bloom & Wild, Karen Betts OBE, CEO of the Food & Drink Federation, Martin Ryan, former CEO of London Stock Exchange Business Services, and Paul Kenward, CEO of British Sugar, represents a collective effort to drive positive change within Fareshare.
As we move forward, Nationwide Produce PLC is excited and committed to continuing our close collaboration with FareShare. We’re dedicated to furthering our impact, ensuring that good food reaches those who need it most.
Our partnership with FareShare embodies our core values and principles. We are honoured to stand alongside FareShare, contributing towards a future where access to quality food is a reality for everyone.
