Nationwide Wins Festival of Fresh Award for Non-Retail Supplier of the Year
Nationwide Produce PLC is proud to announce that they have won a Festival of Fresh award for Non-Retail Supplier of the Year.
Nationwide Produce PLC is thrilled to announce their recent win at Festival of Fresh, where they were honoured with the title of Non-Retail Supplier of the Year. The accolade was presented at the annual Festival of Fresh event organised by Fruitnet and held at AMFRESH in Alconbury Weald on June 21, 2023.
The award stands as a testament to Nationwide Produce’s unwavering dedication to delivering top-quality produce and their exceptional service to customers in the non-retail sector. This recognition reflects their continued commitment to excellence in the fresh produce industry.
Fred Searl, Editor of FPJ, spoke highly of Nationwide Produce’s recent achievements, stating, “The past 12 months for Nationwide have been very dynamic. They have done very well financially in terms of turnover and pre-tax profit, as reported in the last Big 50 guide. Nationwide has become a lot more vertically integrated, now offering source-to-customer service, which has helped them win lots of new business. They have also invested £3.5 million in their Evesham site, significantly increasing storage and delivery capacity. Additionally, they launched a new premium 100% British asparagus brand called Spear It, which has been a real success.”
Tim O’Malley, Group Managing Director of Nationwide Produce PLC, gratefully accepted the award on behalf of the company. In expressing his appreciation, Tim O’Malley dedicated the award to his father, Bernard, who founded the company back in 1975. Despite being 87 years old, Bernard remains Chairman of the Board and maintains a passionate interest in the company and the produce industry. Tim emphasised his father’s unwavering support and encouragement throughout the years, stating, “He’s a ‘glass half full’ guy—always supportive and encouraging to us, his 3 boys.”
